GREEN ARCHITECTURE IN CHINA

Cui Kai is one of China’s leading figures in the field of green architecture and building design. He has long been committed to forging a genuinely Chinese architectural path that navigates between globalisation and regionalism, thus profoundly influencing the trajectory of contemporary architecture in his country. Green Architecture in China offers a comprehensive introduction to Kai’s concept of a Land-based Rationalism, presenting step-by-step the entire design process founded on it, from initial idea and ecological planning to technological integration and ultimately material construction. Kai distills green building design into some thirty specific strategies. Through the analysis of eighteen exemplary designs that he has realised in collaboration with various teams between 2013 and 2025, the book demonstrates the logic and effectiveness of these strategies. Green Architecture in China provides conceptually rich and operationally valuable source and reference for architects around the world.
